Tu B’Shevat 5786
When: January 30, 2025, at 6:15 PM
Under the frozen ground during the mid-winter full moon, the natural world is preparing to “spring” back to life.
In the Jewish tradition we celebrate this moment as Tu B’ Shevat, the “New Year of the Trees.” On this evening, we will celebrate Shabbat in the multi-purpose room around tables so that we can also participate in the holiday seder—tasting the fruits of the trees, and express our gratitude for all the blessings in nature.
We will also be joined by our Israel/Palestine Scholar-in-Residence, Jared Goldfarb, who will share a special reflection at the seder. Through reflections during Tu B’Shevat, a D’Var Torah on Shabbat Morning, and two learning sessions over Shabbat and Sunday, Jared will help ground our community in shared understanding, multiple perspectives, and ongoing efforts toward peace and justice in Israel/Palestine.
This weekend is designed to be thoughtful, challenging, and compassionate—creating room for learning without erasing difference, and for connection without requiring consensus. This will be a unique opportunity that you won’t want to miss!
Let’s come together to honor nature, share delicious food, and enjoy community spirit. Join us!
