Every week

When we stream

Shabbat services stream here, on YouTube, and on Facebook — along with holidays, special events, and memorial services when a family asks for one.

  • Fri 6:15 pm Kabbalat Shabbat Welcoming Shabbat with song and prayer.
  • Sat 10:00 am Shabbat Morning Service Including b’nai mitzvah celebrations.
  • Varies Holidays & special events Festival services, the Days of Awe, and one-off occasions such as a community seder.
  • On request Memorial services Streamed at a family’s request, so mourners who cannot travel can still be present.

All times Central. During the High Holy Days, the Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur family services stream as well. Not everything on our calendar is streamed — if you are counting on watching something, email us and we will confirm.

How to watch

A few things worth knowing, whether this is your first time or your fiftieth.

Watch on your television

The stream is easier to follow on a big screen, and it frees your hands for a siddur.

  • Smart TV, Roku, Apple TV, or Fire TV: open the YouTube app, search Central Reform Congregation, and choose the video marked Live.
  • Chromecast: start the stream on your phone, then tap the cast icon in the corner of the video.
  • iPhone or iPad: tap the AirPlay icon in the video to send it to an Apple TV.

Subscribing to our channel makes it show up faster next time.

Captions, volume, and picture quality
  • Tap CC in the player to turn captions on or off when they are available for a stream.
  • The gear icon sets picture quality — lower it if the video keeps pausing to buffer.
  • Use the full-screen icon at the bottom right for the largest picture.
  • Sound is separate from your device volume, so check both if you hear nothing.
Joining the chat

The chat beside the video is where people say Shabbat shalom, share where they are watching from, and offer names for healing.

You will need to be signed in to a Google account to post; anyone can read along. On a phone, the chat sits below the video — or tap Open in YouTube for a fuller view.

Saying kaddish and being counted

You are part of the congregation from wherever you are watching. If you are observing a yahrzeit or would like a name read aloud, write to shalom@centralreform.org before the service, or post it in the chat and we will do our best to include it.

If something is not working
  1. Refresh the page — this fixes most problems.
  2. If the video is frozen, lower the quality with the gear icon.
  3. Still stuck? Watch directly on YouTube or Facebook, where the same service is streaming.

We would rather hear from you than have you miss a service. Email communications@centralreform.org or call 314-361-3919 and we will help you get connected.

Watch again

Every service we stream stays up afterward. Miss a Friday night, revisit a d’var Torah, or listen to the music on its own.

Every livestreamed service, newest first — Shabbat, holidays, and b’nai mitzvah.
