Dear CRC Community,

As we enter 5787, we are filled with both excitement and deep gratitude as we prepare to welcome you to CRC for the High Holy Days. These Days of Awe invite us into reflection, renewal, repentance, and hope, and we are grateful to share them with you.

Below you’ll find important information to help you prepare for this year’s High Holy Days. Services and events will take place both at our Sukkat Shalom and at First Unitarian Church (across the street) as indicated on the enclosed High Holy Days Schedule.

We look forward to welcoming you for a meaningful and inspiring High Holy Day season.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Help make the High Holy Days warm, welcoming, and meaningful for everyone. Volunteer opportunities include greeting guests, assisting with seating, providing directions, and helping create a welcoming experience for all.

Visit www.centralreform.org/hhd-help to sign up.

All volunteers are required to attend one of two available training sessions:
• Wednesday, September 2, 5:30 pm
• Thursday, September 3, 11:30 am

These sessions will prepare volunteers to best support staff and assist guests.
Add a Little Sweetness to Rosh Hashanah
Help us celebrate a sweet new year by baking treats or preparing a nosh tray to share following Erev Rosh Hashanah services.
Beginning in August, you may pick up a tray and instruction card from CRC. Please return your completed tray on Friday, September 11, before Erev Rosh Hashanah services.
Thank you for helping make our holiday celebration even sweeter.

REGISTRATION

While CRC remains committed to welcoming everyone, seating capacity is limited. Please register in advance for the services you plan to attend. Registering ahead helps ensure your entrance and allows for a smoother check-in experience. DON’T WAIT TO REGISTER as services may reach capacity, at which point you will be added to the waitlist. Your registration can be updated, if anything changes.

For services with multiple worship locations, registration will ask you to select your preferred location.

• Members: Saturday, August 1
• Non-Members: Friday, August 21

FAMILY FRIENDLY EVENTS

Children are always welcome at CRC services. While childcare is not provided, several gatherings are designed especially with households with young children in mind:

• Rosh Hashanah Family Service: Saturday, September 12 • 2:30 pm
• Tashlich: Saturday, September 12 • 3:30 pm (Gather at CRC before walking together.)
• Yom Kippur Family Service: Monday, September 21 • 2:30 pm
• Sukkot: Pizza in the Hut: Wednesday, September 30 • 5:30–7:00 pm

Most worship services will also be available via livestream. Please refer to the enclosed High Holy Days Schedule for details.

PARKING

Parking is available at the following locations:

CRC parking lot: Reserved handicapped accessible parking. Must display a disabled parking placard or require accessibility assistance to park here.

First Unitarian Church: Available except for Second Day of Rosh Hashanah, 9/13.

Street parking: Available on Waterman Boulevard and Kingshighway (please observe posted signage and meter requirements).

Chase Park Plaza Garage: Public parking and valet are available.

New City School: Please do not park in their lot on weekdays during school hours (8:30 am–6:00 pm).
No parking at New City on Yom Kippur.

Please note:
NO Shuttle service will be provided.
There is no general reserved parking.
Carpooling is encouraged whenever possible to help reduce congestion.

ACCESSIBILITY

During registration, you’ll have the opportunity to let us know about any accessibility accommodations you may need, including:

Large-print siddurim
ASL interpretation
Assistive hearing devices
Wheelchair accessibility

Please note that ASL interpretation and assistive hearing devices are available only for services held at CRC and are not available at services hosted at First Unitarian Church.

SECURITY

Creating a safe and welcoming environment remains one of our highest priorities. Security personnel will be present throughout the High Holy Days.

Please be prepared for the following:
• Walk-through metal detectors at building entrances.
• Registration verification upon arrival.
• Bag inspections as needed.
• No large bags (larger than 12″ × 6″ × 12″). Acceptable bags include clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags meeting these dimensions, a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag, or a small clutch purse.
• All bags are subject to inspection.
• No weapons are permitted on campus.
• Please avoid leaving valuables visible in your vehicle.

Security procedures may be adjusted as circumstances warrant. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and partnership in helping us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
