On Sunday, June 28, members of Central Reform Congregation joined thousands of our neighbors in downtown St. Louis for an inspiring and joy-filled day at St. Louis PrideFest, participating in both the Interfaith Pride Service and the annual Pride Parade.
The morning began with the Interfaith Pride Service on the Main Stage, where people of many faith traditions gathered to celebrate love, inclusion, equality, and the beautiful diversity of the LGBTQ+ community. We were especially proud that Rabbi Daniel Bogard spoke on behalf of Camp Indigo Point, sharing the camp’s mission of creating sacred and affirming space for LGBTQ+ youth and their families.
Even more moving were the testimonies offered by Camp Indigo Point campers themselves. Their stories of belonging, acceptance, and transformation reminded everyone present why affirming communities matter and why our work of building a more just and compassionate world remains so important.
Following the service, CRC members joined friends from LGBTQ Faith Alliance to march in the Pride Parade. Proudly carrying our banner declaring Trans Belonging at CRC, we walked through the streets of downtown St. Louis in joyful celebration and solidarity.
From the cheers of the crowds to the meaningful conversations throughout the morning, the day was a powerful reminder that Pride is both a celebration and a sacred act of witness. As Reform Jews, we affirm that every person is created b’tzelem Elohim—in the image of God—and that our commitment to justice calls us to stand proudly with our LGBTQ+ siblings and neighbors.
Thank you to everyone who attended, marched, volunteered, and represented CRC so beautifully. Your presence made it clear that our congregation remains a place where love is celebrated, diversity is embraced, and everyone is welcome.
We are grateful to have shared this meaningful day of faith, community, and Pride—and we look forward to continuing the work of building a world where all people can live openly, safely, and with dignity.
Happy Pride, CRC!
