Israel Trip Update
We’re going to Israel! The sign up link is live, and our Israel-trip learnings start Nov 16th after Shabbat services in the library (noonish). We’re going to be talking about the “tribes” of contemporary Israel, a little background on history, and more information on the trip.
Speaking of the trip: if you’re planning on going, please, please, please, register officially! Our tour provider needs more registrations so that they can begin to put down deposits on our events. You can register at http://arzaworld.com/CRC2020.aspx
Here are the other dates that we’ll be having Israel trip sessions–all of them on Shabbat after services (except for March): Nov 16th, Dec 7th, Jan 4th, Jan 25th, Feb 15th, March 14th**, Apr 4th, Apr 25th, May 16th, June 13th, and June 20th.
See you in Israel!
**The March event will be in the evening at my home with special guest Noam Zion.

Israel Letter from the Bogards
We’ve got Israel trip news!
Join the Rabbis Bogard for a unique CRC Israel Trip June 27th-July 7th. We’ve created an amazing itinerary built to be shared by people who have never been to Israel before, and for those who have been a dozen times. It includes:
- a walking tour of the ’67 battle for the Kotel (the Western Wall) with author of Like Dreamers, Yossi Klein HaLevi;
- a meal with NPR Israel correspondent (and St. Louisian!) Daniel Estrin
- a day in Hevron witnessing the worst of the occupation up close on a walking tour with Breaking The Silence, and then a visit to Machpelah — the sacred burial cave of Sarah, Abraham, Jacob, Rebecca, and more — with members of the local Jewish settler community.
- a morning in south Tel Aviv exploring issues around refugees and asylum seekers in Israel (including a delicious Eritrean meal)
- and more!
As always, you can go to www.centralreform.org/
ps–we’re also going to have an optional two-day pre-trip which will visit some of the “greatest hits”, e.g. Masada, the Dead Sea, Qumran, Yad V’Shem, the caves behind the Kotel, etc…This will be $800-1000 depending on the number of people who sign up.
pps–because we know this is important in making your decision, these are some rough prices: $3300-3800 for the trip + airfare (usually $1500-1800 in the summer).
