Torah from Scratch

A friendly Torah study for all. We’ll be starting “from scratch“, so no matter your background, this class is for you! Feel free to bring a lunch, and join us!

This fall, Torah from Scratch moves to a new time—Wednesdays at noon, in-person at CRC—with a fresh focus on the Rishonim, the medieval Jewish sages whose commentaries continue to shape Jewish thought and practice.

“The Rishonim wrestled with Torah just like we do,” said Rabbi Bogard. “The teachings of the Rishonim, from Rashi to RambaN to Maimonides, still give us strength, resilience, and insight into what it means to live Jewishly in our own time.”

Accessible and welcoming, Torah from Scratch requires no prior knowledge, no preparation, and no weekly commitment. Participants are invited to drop in whenever they can—bring a lunch, bring questions, and join the conversation.
