Stained Glass: A Conversation with Flora Cassen
Sunday, May 3, 2026 | 10:00 AM
Join us for a special morning with CRC member and board member Flora Cassen as she launches her powerful new book, Stained Glass: A Reflective History of Antisemitism.
In conversation with Rabbi Daniel Bogard, Flora will explore the deeply personal and historical threads woven throughout her work. Part memoir and part history, Stained Glass traces her journey from Antwerp’s Jewish community—shaped by her grandparents’ escape from Nazi-occupied Europe—to her life in the United States. Through this lens, she examines enduring questions of Jewish identity, vulnerability, and belonging across generations and continents.
The program will include a moderated conversation, audience Q&A, and book signing.
Discounted books will be available for purchase on-site.
Flora Cassen is a historian, author, and the Lavine Family Director of the Brandeis Center for Jewish Studies. Her work brings together rigorous scholarship and lived experience in a way that is both illuminating and deeply human.
This event is free and open to the community.
Light refreshments will be served.
Please RSVP to help us plan for seating and refreshments.
