Pink Triangle Legacies: Holocaust History and the Fight for LGBTQ+ Rights
/ Congregational Updates, News
CRC is honored to be a community sponsor of Pink Triangle Legacies, Holocaust History and the Fight for LGBTQ Rights, a public program at the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum.
This powerful presentation explores the history of the pink triangle, the LGBTQ community’s original pride symbol, tracing its transformation from a Nazi concentration camp badge into an enduring emblem of queer liberation, community, resilience, and pride.
Drawing on unexplored archival sources and original interviews, historian Dr. Jake Desai-Newsome will share the voices of LGBTQ Holocaust victims and illuminate the stories of queer people who found renewed meaning in the pink triangle in the decades after the Holocaust.
The presentation will be followed by a thoughtful dialogue with the Museum’s past Director of Education and Curation, Dan Reich, and a book signing.
All are welcome. Please join us, and bring friends.
