CRC Apple Pie Baking for the Holidays
You Are Invited to a CRC Holiday “Pie Baking Party” on Wednesday, September 17, from 4-6 p.m. Everyone attending will get a lesson in pie making and then will take home their own beautiful hand-made apple pie—ready to bake and/or freeze and enjoy for Rosh Hashana!
Your baking instructor and our CRC member Marcia Mermelstein, owner of “Pie in the Sky,” was the original pastry chef at Winslow’s Home, and her pies have been sold at a variety of small cafes and shops in St. Louis, as well as at both the Clayton and University City Farmers’ Markets. She has been successfully selling her homemade pies in the St. Louis area for more than 20 years, and she loves offering classes where participants can learn that making a pie can be…easy as pie!
We will provide all of the necessary baking utensils and ingredients, and Marcia will provide the recipes for her no-fail pie dough and apple pie filling—-you just need to bring your two hands, an apron (if you want) and a curiosity about how to make a really good pie that is also really easy to make!
Cost per person – $36 (scholarships available upon request). Information on how to pay will be provided upon registration. Minimum 6, Maximum 20 participants.
