Wednesday, May 13, CRC launches a two-session adult education mini Beit Midrash exploring Handbook for Heretics and Prophets: A New Torah for a New World, a new book by the late Rabbi Arthur Waskow—renowned scholar, activist, and teacher.

Join Rabbi Randy Fleisher and CRC member Karen Flotte for an engaging conversation inspired by one of the most influential voices in Jewish renewal, spirituality, and social justice. Many at CRC will remember Rabbi Waskow from his time teaching here in 2019.

This thought-provoking collection holds special meaning for the CRC community, as both Rabbi Susan Talve and CRC Member Karen Flotte are contributing authors. Many will also remember Rabbi Waskow from his time teaching at CRC in 2019. A lifelong leader in Jewish renewal and social justice, Rabbi Waskow passed away in late 2025 at the age of 92.

Together, we’ll engage with the book’s ideas, wrestle with its questions, and explore what it means to challenge, reinterpret, and live Jewish tradition in our time.
