Nourish Our Neighbors "Meal a Month" Program CRC’s Nourish Our Neighbors project is continuing to meet hunger needs in our community by sponsoring a “meal a month” program. Each month, we are asking CRC households to donate the equivalent of one meal, to be given to Jewish Food Pantry clients who pick up their food at CRC’s satellite site. It is easy to make a difference! Please watch the CRC Memo, e-announcements, and the signs along the CRC “picture wall” for each month’s theme. All you have to do is take the suggested shopping list when you go to the grocery store, purchase the suggested items, and drop the items off at CRC in the bin along the picture wall. JULY 2009: LUNCH BOX Summer is the time when children are most likely to go hungry, because they are not getting the free school lunches they receive during the school year. In their honor, volunteers chose a kid-friendly theme for June. Many of us fondly remember the birthdays of our childhoods. Imagine the difference we can all make by bringing the magic of birthdays to children whose families are struggling! July “Meal a Month” Suggested Shopping List:
Please drop off your donations in the bin under the picture wall at CRC. If you have any questions, please contact Mary Wolf at 314-420-9978. AUGUST 2009: "QUICK & EASY" When the sun is beating down, the last thing many people want to do is stand in front of a hot stove. In honor of the hottest month of the year, please help us collect some "quick and easy" foods to help people stay nourished & cool. August “Meal a Month” Suggested Shopping List:
