Educational Challenges for Students Living
in Poverty

Friday, February 12, 7:30 pm

Diedra Thomas-Murray runs the Students in Transition program in the St. Louis Public School District, which serves the needs of the 10% of SLPS students who are homeless at any given time. She will talk about the realities these students face and the challenges they face in getting the education they need to break the cycle of poverty. She will also talk about the responsibilities of the school district, the services that have been shown to work, and what the community can do to help.
