Community Volunteer Opportunities

Tikkun olam, or repair of the world, is a core value for CRC and for many of our members. While we actively create and promote a wide variety of volunteer opportunities available through CRC, our members and allies are often engaged in additional opportunities throughout the community. Check this page for opportunities to volunteer outside of CRC!

If your organization or cause is looking for volunteers and you think CRC members might be interested, please send a brief paragraph and a link or contact information for more information to Connie Joseph at connie@centralreform.org. Please note that we reserve the right to not promote programs that are inconsistent with CRC values, priorities or policies.

Second Annual Jewish Social Action Network Volunteer Day

Tuesday August 7,
Kidsmart, 12175 Bridgeton Square Drive, St. Louis 63044

Volunteers will be helping Kidsmart sort and distribute donated supplies so that teachers will be able to provide the supplies to students in need at the very start of the school year. There are more than 90,000 students in the St. Louis area who cannot afford basic school items like pencils, paper and crayons.  Kidsmart helps them start the year on the right foot so they can succeed academically.

Volunteers will work in two shifts:  12 PM to  3 PM and 3 PM to 6 PM.   Minimum age for volunteers is 11 years old.
12 PM to 3 PM shift—volunteers will be preparing the store for opening
3 PM to 6 PM shift—volunteers will be helping teachers shop for supplies

For more information and to RSVP, contact Gail Wechsler at gwechsler@jcrcstl.org or 314-442-3894.
