Prayer Circle

Moses, upon learning that his sister Miriam was sick, offered a prayer from his heart: "Please God, heal her now" and Miriam was healed. Miriam didn't even know that Moses was praying for her and somehow the connecting threads of creation wove a blanket of healing that surrounded and supported her.

At weekly services, CRC offer prayers of healing for anyone who asks. Many people call and ask that their friends or family be added to the list and all such requests are honored. Also we have magnified the power of prayer by creating a CRC Prayer Circle that prays for the people on our prayer list. You can participate in a number of different ways. First, you can recite the healing prayer and read the list of names. We request, if possible, we would like for you to say the prayer and read the list at 7:00 a.m. each morning.

Everything we do makes a difference. The fundamental principle that makes CRC what it is, is filling connections between us. This is one more way and we hope a very powerful way to do this.

If you are interested in adding your name and the name of someone else to the Healing Prayer list email Joy@centralreform.org.

HEALING PRAYER DISCLOSURE
Please be aware that names added to the CRC healing prayer list also go to the congregation's web site and are out in the public domain. We are asking that when you add someone to the list that you make them aware that the list is public and make sure that they consent. Also, when a person improves, let us know so their name can be removed from the list.

If you have questions please email arose@lewisrice.com or call Al Rose 314.444.1300 (office) or 314.576.5089 (home).

CRC Healing Prayer

Adonai,
open my lips that my mouth may declare your praise.
As those who came before us were blessed
in the presence of the communities that sustained them,
so we offer our blessings for those among us in need of healing.
may each of those we pray for have comfort and relief
in the healing of body and mind,
and may each one return in time
to health and wholeness and strength.

May the One who blessed our fathers
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
and our mothers

cause healing for those who are ill.

Bless this holy congregation
and all who are with them.
May God bless those who form
synagogues for prayer,
and those who come to pray.
May God bless those who give
the lamps for lighting,
the wine for Kiddush and Havdallah,
bread for travelers,
and tzedakah to the poor,
and all who occupy themselves
with the needs of others.
May the holy one bless them
and remove from them all sickness,
heal their bodies, their spirits,
and send blessing and prosperity
to all the works of their hands,
as well as to all Israel,
our brothers and sisters,
and let us say, amen.
