Development

The primary mission of the Development Circle is to raise funds to supplement income from members' annual financial contributions and religious school tuition.

CRC's Development program draws on several different sources.  All of our Development efforts are structured to respect the "CRC way" of raising money - keeping all donations confidential while hoping our donors feel good about their contribution. Donors also have a choice of different funds to which they may donate.

Funds:

General Fund

Gifts to the general fund support CRC operations, including educational programming, rabbinic support, and religious events.  These donations help supplement income from members' annual financial contributions and religious school tuition.

Rabbis' Discretionary Funds

Each of CRC's rabbis has a discretionary fund which they use to fund worth projects for individuals and agencies throughout the year.  Many members and friends choose to make gifts to these funds, knowing their gift will help CRC's rabbis continue the wonderful work they do throughout the community.

Education Fund

The Education Fund supports the programs of CRC's Education Department.  In order to keep religious school affordable for families, Religious School tuition covers only about 50% of the cost of running the school.  The balance of the cost is covered through Education Fund donations and general CRC funds.

Tikkun Olam Fund

The Tikkun Olam Fund supports social justice programs at CRC and in the greater community.

Endowment (L'Dor V'Dor Fund)
Building a CRC endowment will give long-term financial stability to the congregation. Gifts can be made for general purposes or for "restricted" needs, such as facilities maintenance, educational programming and rabbinical support. Fundraising Programs:

Special Events
We plan one or two events throughout the year to bring together the CRC community and raise funds for CRC.  Past events have included Auctions and a CRC Cabaret featuring the talents of CRC members.

Scrip
Scrip allows members and friends to order gift cards from over 60 stores and restaurants, as well as several local grocery stores. CRC receives a commission from the retailers at no cost to the donor. These commissions help with CRC’s operating budget. Scrip cards can be used for regular shopping needs, in addition to purchasing them as gift cards. For more information and for a Scrip order form, click here. 

Annual Education Department Book Fair

Each fall, shortly before Chanukah, CRC's Education Department hosts a book fair at CRC. Hundreds of new and used books, as well as Chanukah-themed items, are available, and the proceeds support CRC's religious school programs. The Book Fair is a great time to purchase Chanukah gifts for others and stock up reading material for yourself!

Fundraising Campaigns

Periodically, CRC holds fundraising campaigns to raise money for the congregational budget.  We are always grateful to our members and friends who are able to contribute, no matter the size of their contribution.
