CRC Partnership with the Juvenile Detention Center
Partnership Kick-Off: August 8 Social Responsibility Shabbat
Come to Social Responsibility Shabbat on Friday, August 8, at 7:30 pm. Nathan Graves, from the St. Louis Juvenile Detention Center, as well as members of CRC's Education Tikkun Olam Team, will speak about the new partnership, answer questions about the Juvenile Detention Center, and discuss how CRC members can get involved.
Volunteer Orientation Sessions
Two volunteer orientation sessions are scheduled for CRC members. This is your opportunity to see the Juvenile Detention Center and learn more about volunteer opportunities. All members who will be volunteering regularly in the Juvenile Detention Center will also be required to fill out an application and have a background check.
Each session will cover the following topics:
- Orientation to the Juvenile Detention Center
- Tour of facilities
- Volunteer application / background check (required by the Juvenile Detention Center & St. Louis Public Schools)
- Basic training on working effectively with this population
- Description of volunteer opportunities through CRC
- Sign up for future trainings and/or volunteer roles
