JEWISH FOOD PANTRY CALLS FOR VOLUNTEERS! The Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry (HKJFP) is extremely busy and the demand keeps increasing. To meet demands the pantry has new policies in place that have lead us to new volunteer positions that span from answering telephones to unloading delivery trucks! We are looking for weekday volunteers to perform many different tasks to help families in need. Volunteering is a great way to stay active and involved while benefiting others! Please call Kelly Mueller at 812-9386 (or email kmueller@jfcs-stl.org) if you would like more information on volunteering at the HKJFP. Thank you! Jewish Light's Ohr Chadash Teen Page – Now Accepting Applications for 2010-2011 Teen Staff The award-winning Ohr Chadash Teen Page of the St. Louis Jewish Light is calling for applications for 2010-2011 Teen Staff. Jewish Light Board Member Jenny Wolkowitz says, “We look for bright, talented teens that can make a commitment to monthly meetings and have some journalism experience.” The Teen Staff seeks writers, editors, photographers, webmasters, graphic artists and more. If you or someone you know might be interested, please go to the Ohr Chadash web-site http://www.stljewishlight.com/www/teenpage/html/index.html to download a copy of the application. Ohr Chadash – which literally means new light – accurately boasts “teen news by teen Jews,” because it is written, edited, and produced by Jewish teens ages 13-19. The Teen Page continues to improve each year. Editor-in-Chief Jeremy Lang, Parkway North Senior, said, “To stay current, this year we added a fully functional web-site so that teens can read past articles and give ideas for Teen Page coverage. We also have a Facebook fan base and a blogspot (www.ohrchadashblog.blogspot.com), on which teens can comment about our articles.” This year, Lang is assisted by Managing Editors Abby Abrams, Madison Ginsberg and Michael Gorin and 14 other staffers representing much of the St. Louis area, including Clayton, Ladue, Block Yeshiva, Marquette, Parkway Central and Parkway North. Teen Page Advisors are Jenny Wolkowitz and Mimi Pultman. Any questions regarding the staff or the application process, please contact Editor-in-Chief Jeremy Lang at teenpageeditor@gmail.com.
